Kpm Berlin

Porcelain production was launched already in 1753 under the supervision of the Berlin merchant William Casper Wegely. However, a few years later Gotzkowsky founded a porcelain factory in Berlin and hired employees who knew the Wegely secret recipe.

In 1763, the factory was taken over by King Frederick II the Great and as a sign of royal properties gave him the signature ''Royal Sceptre". Since then manufacture is called Kӧnigliche Porzellan- Manufaktur Berlin (KPM). In 1784 (after four years of work) they achieved a delicate matte shade of blue called ''Bleu Mourant'', which was used to decorate by the king's favorite service ''Neuzierat". After the death of King products KPM ended up on the tables of the Russian imperial family as well as many European royal courts. In 1878 were developed new glaze colors: bloody, aquamarine and crystal, and since 1908 are made new forms in emerging style of Art Nouveau.

KPM Berlin is a unique and very luxurious work of art, sought by collectors around the world and reach extremely high prices at auction.
